Dear Pastors, Praying Partners, Friends and Family;

The Lord gave me the verse above a couple weeks ago… My heart and mind has been looking toward a departure date, and there has been one delay after another! I had gone from peace to impatience and back again a couple times, when I came across that verse. It was just what I needed to know that God has a perfect plan and purpose for these delays. As one of my former pastors used to say “God not only orders the steps of a good man (Psalm 37:23), He orders the stops.”

Paperwork Update:
The paperwork process still has several stages left to go. We received word in late June that a document that we were waiting on had gone through several delays, each taking 3-4 weeks. This means that we are just now picking up again where we were three months ago. While frustrating, it is entirely out of our control. The good news is that things appear to be moving much quicker now. This document has already been sent to the state and federal levels for authentication. One document has been returned and the second should be back any day. When returned, they will go to the Colombian Consulate in Houston for authentication. It looks like there is still a minimum of 2 to 3 months before we can expect to receive a letter of sponsorship for us to enter Colombia.

Bro. William Aya, who will be handling the process in Colombia, will shortly be in the states for several days. Please pray with us that these documents can be returned from the Consulate before his departure, so that he may hand carry them to Colombia. Not only would this be more secure, it would also be much speedier!

Colombia in the News:
Colombia has been in the news several times in the recent weeks. The situation seems to be getting better as the government makes headway against the guerilla rebels. You probably heard of the amazing rescue of 15 hostages, including 3 American hostages who had been held for over 6 years by the guerilla forces. In the last 4-5 months, three of the top guerilla commanders have either died or been killed who for so long were “untouchable.” Lord willing, this will help improve the security situation and it may very well be that God is preparing the country for a time of greater opportunity to preach and publish the Gospel. Please pray with us for fertile soil and an open door for a harvest!

Spending some time at home:
We have been blessed and encouraged to spend a few weeks with the folks at our home church. It was a blessing for our family to go to Family Camp, as well as get more involved with the visitation program, Reformers Unanimous ministry and a renewed emphasis on discipleship. We have several ministry trips planned in the next couple weeks – please pray with us for safe travel, profitable meetings and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit!

Dear Pastors, Praying Partners, Friends and Family;

We are excited to have come to the end of our deputation! We grateful first and foremost to our Lord and Saviour for His protection, provision and direction through several years of driving, visiting churches and witnessing along the way. We have grown spiritually, been challenged practically, tested occasionally and at each step along the way we have found HIM FAITHFUL! We owe a great debt of gratitude to many Pastors, churches, fellow missionaries, church laborers and families who hosted and helped us along the way and who co-labored with us in prayer. We want to say a big “THANK YOU” and “GOD BLESS YOU” to each who had a part!

In March and April, we finished up two of our final long road trips, traveling through 16 states and into Canada before returning to our home church. The Lord blessed with a number of good meetings and at least one new supporting church. We rejoiced to see international fruit as we saw a woman receive Christ following the preaching in Canada!

Paperwork Pending:
We are currently in a holding pattern as we wait for news on a letter of sponsorship that must come from Colombia. This is the last major hurdle before our departure. When we receive it, we can go to the Colombian Consulate in Chicago to obtain our visas and then make our final plans for departure. Sadly, I don’t have any specific information on how long this will take. We have done everything we can do at the moment, we must simply wait on the paperwork process that is underway. We were very hopeful to have it by now, but while out of our control, it is certainly not out of the Lord’s and we are confident that He has a purpose and plan for the delay. As the Lord brings us to your remembrance, please pray with us for wisdom, patience and His perfect timing for the letter of sponsorship, visas and our departure.

Preaching Conference/Missions Seminar:
We were honored to be present and to participate as our home church hosted a 5-day Preaching Conference/Missions Seminar from Apr. 28th to May 2nd. It was truly a great time of preaching, fellowship and edification among about 50 Independent Baptist pastors and missionaries who came.

January/February 2008 Prayer Letter

To all our faithful prayer friends, supporters and family - Greeting in Jesus name!

January sped by with a busy schedule of meetings in Arkansas and Missouri. We thank the Lord for His protection as we traveled safely through several winter storms! Praise the Lord, even with our entire family catching the flu bug and having to get the transmission of our van rebuilt, we were able to keep all of our scheduled meetings! So far in February, we have had several meetings and we thank the Lord for directing our steps to churches with a burden and vision for ministry and missions! In just a few short months the Lord’s churches have helped us raise our support level back up to where we are back up to the minimum necessary amount to head to the field. Several churches have us under consideration for support, and we still have several scheduled meetings to go. We are begging the Lord for wisdom about our schedule as we try to determine all the details leading up to departure. We are currently at our home church for a couple weeks and we are excited to have a part in preparations for special revival services. There have been cottage prayer meetings, phone calls, door-knocking and flyer distribution. We are trusting God to see souls saved and lives changed through His word and His power.

Divine Delay - VISA Situation!

It was in our heart to depart a little sooner, but it seems the Lord’s timing is for a short while longer. February 13th was the deadline for the expiration of our airline tickets. At one time LAN Chile offered us some hope that although our tickets were non-changeable/non-refundable, that they would give us some credit or compensation. They proved to be very difficult to work with and we were not able to realize any refund or benefit from them. We are trusting that the Lord has a Divine delay for purposes that He is aware of. We currently have paperwork in with several government agencies, while in Colombia the process is underway to gain our sponsorship into the country. We have sent $2,000 dollars to Colombia to aid in the cost and process of registering the ministry that will be sponsoring us into the country. This process is underway and is expected to take between two to three months to complete. Once we have the necessary sponsorship letter from Colombia, we will submit our paperwork to the Colombian Consulate in Chicago. The religious visa will cost about $2,400 to process for the entire family, but it will allow us to remain in the country for 2 years at a time and will be renewable from within the country. I have talked it over with my pastor, and his counsel at this time was rather than travel to Colombia on a tourist visa, which would give us a very limited time to stay in the country before having to leave and renew our paperwork, to wait it out a little longer. We expect to know more specifics by the writing of our next prayer update.

- *~* We are excited to hear what God is doing in Colombia! Here is an excerpt from the Dec. 2007 prayer letter of Missionary Paul Clark to Colombia, sent out of Tulsa Baptist Temple, Tulsa, OK*~* “The younger son of the president of Colombia, Tomás, who is 27 years old, recently visited our church in Medellín. He arrived with 20 bodyguards and half of them entered the church service with him. In other words, they had to listen to preaching of the word also. At the end of the service, Tomás and his girlfriend made their profession of faith in Christ. After the service he went home and called his dad to tell him what he had done. The president, Alvaro Uribe, sent an email to the church thanking them and asked for prayer for himself. Many of our Colombian believers are praying for our president’s salvation.”

Prayer Needs:

- As of January 1st, the Communism Party gained control in the government in the capital city of Bogotá. Please join us in praying for continued physical and spiritual freedom in Colombia to witness and to work.

- Sometime before our family’s departure, I will need to travel to Colombia to arrange housing and get basic utilities and preparations made for their arrival. We are also praying about the timing for a commissioning service at our home church. After speaking with my pastor, mid-May looks very likely. Pray that we would have much wisdom for ordering our schedule these next 2-3 months prior to our departure.

Greetings in Jesus Precious name!

Thank each of you for your faithful prayers! And please don’t stop now! These past two months have been a whirlwind of activity, and we have especially sensed the Lord’s protection, provision and leadership as you have prayed for us – THANK YOU! In our last prayer letter we asked for the Lord’s help in filling some gaps in our schedule and He has done just that, several times getting us meetings with a weeks or less notice! We have been in 6 missions conference and 7 other meetings in Missouri, Kentucky, Ohio, Iowa, Texas and now in Colorado in the last 8 weeks! We have meetings throughout the remainder of the year in Nebraska, Texas, Illinois, Missouri and Kansas. Please continue to pray for our safe travels and that the Lord would use us to be a blessing and encouragement to His churches. Pray with us that the Lord would raise up the supporting churches that we need for the work He has called us to!

Prayer Needs - VISA Situation!

We have a number of important decisions to make in the next couple months concerning our visas. There are several factors that, will determine which type of visa we will be able to obtain and when our departure might be scheduled. Right now we need wisdom and the Lord’s direction and confirmation for the next few steps. Please pray with us that we can get the necessary sponsorship and paperwork we need in a timely manner. We would like to leave as early as mid-February if it is possible. Only the Lord knows, but we ask you to pray with us for everything to fall in place if it is His will.

Greetings in Jesus Precious name!

Wow! What a busy couple of months this has been! There have been a number of notable events going on here as we have gotten settled into our new sponsoring church and as we have once again begun visiting churches and raising up our support. On August 26th, our home church celebrated its 100th Anniversary and the dedication of our new building. Needless to say, there were a lot of last minute preparations and projects to be completed for the big day, however it was a great opportunity for us to jump in and help and to get to better know our church family.

In addition to establishing our residency, getting new drivers licenses and a host of other details, we were able to purchase a 15-passenger van that I believe will serve us well over the next few months as we try to finish up our deputation. We’ve also gotten the children got off to a good start on their home-schooling, and made a lot of progress toward scheduling churches. Thankfully, I think the majority of things are settled and we are back on the road again with a busy schedule of meetings for at least the next month. We are thankful to the Lord and several churches that have given us meetings and the opportunity to preach and share our ministry and burden on short notice! Thank You! Please pray with us that we could fill up the gaps in our schedule and that the Lord would specially order our steps to be in His perfect timing and will!

This past week, I was blessed to have an opportunity to spend time with the Ed Fort family and the saints of the Independent Baptist Mission in inner-city Chicago. We had a great time on the streets and were able to cover two different Mexican parades, getting out over 6,000 packets of tracts over the weekend, each with both Spanish and English. We also spent a few hours on the streets downtown where we were able to hand out a number of tracts in over 30 languages as well! Pray the Lord will continue to use the seed that was sown!

Greetings in Jesus Precious name!

We want to extend a big THANK YOU for the prayers and patience of each of you who have interceded for us over the last two and a half months! It has been a time of much transition and seeking the Lord for our family. In our last letter, we had three specific prayer requests/needs – 1) a sponsoring church; 2) a trip to Colombia and 3) the changing/refunding of our airline tickets. The Lord has been faithful to guide, protect and provide and we want to share with you this update:

First, as we began the process of finding a sponsoring church, we had several Scriptures that the Lord impressed us with to begin. We also had four churches in three different states that extended an invitation for us to visit and seek the Lord's direction as to possible membership and sponsorship. Over the course of the past two months, we spent time visiting these churches, seeking the Lord's will. Of these four churches, the Lord gave us clear confirmation that He was adding us to Mt Zion Baptist Church, St. Clair, MO, Pastor Thomas Smith. This past Sunday (July 29th) we joined the church here and are excited to be added to this local assembly!

Secondly, from May 28th to June 7th, I was able to make a trip to Colombia. The tickets were originally purchased so I could travel to Colombia and arrange housing and set up a home prior to my family’s arrival. Instead, it was a good time of participating in the ongoing ministries under Bro. William Aya. I was able to participate in a number of discipleship sessions as we met in the homes of a number of the young believers from the work in the Bototá. I was also able to help grade courses and prepare materials for the Correspondence School. We also drove about 4 hours out of the capital city to visit a developing work in the town of Libano. Bro. Aya baptized two believers (a husband and wife) and we were able to spend some time in encouragement, teaching and fellowship with this developing work.

Thirdly, the airline tickets we had purchased for a departure date of June 26 were non-changeable/refundable. However, if we are able to purchase tickets with a departure date of February 13th, 2008 or sooner, we will be able to apply the funds toward the cost of new tickets. This gives us a definite date and goal to aim towards, however for this to happen, we need your prayers for the following:
- We lost $1,000/month support from our former sponsoring church when we made this change, so we will need to schedule meetings and raise our support level once again.
- Also, we will need to redo much of the Visa paperwork that was underway.

Thank You once again for standing by us throughout these challenging days! Our burden and vision for Colombia have not changed – only the timetable and we trust that through it all, God has some clear purpose for the delay!

THANK YOU for your prayers for this missionary family over the past two months – it is greatly appreciated! Sarah, Jonathan and I returned from Antigua, Guatemala on Thursday, March 15th. While we were there, we were able to accomplish several goals. First and foremost, we were able to spend 3 full weeks in a Spanish language school getting a head-start on our language learning. This time will be a great help to our family and ministry once we arrive in Colombia and begin the process of learning a new language and culture. Secondly, we were able to hand out hundreds of Gospel tracts and evangelistic booklets in the markets, on the buses and in several different cities. Thirdly, we were able to visit with three different Independent Baptist works and missionaries, one in Chimaltenango, one in San Lucas and one in Guatemala City. It was a very full, productive and profitable trip and we appreciate your intercession for us and for Ann and the children in our absence!

Since our return, we have been in three churches and we are currently in NW Arkansas awaiting the birth of Baby Moore. We are expecting any day now, and ask for your continued intercession for Mom and Baby at this time. We have a couple exciting praises to share with you at this time. First, we have purchased our airline tickets and have a scheduled departure date of Tuesday, June 26. We will fly out of Dallas/Fort Worth, spend the night in Miami, and arrive in Colombia about 9 a.m. on the 27th. Secondly, we are humbled and appreciative of another supporting church this month:

Continuing Prayer Requests:
Our remaining time here in the U.S. is quickly drawing to an end. Over the next 3 months we still have several missions conferences and meetings scheduled, we need to sell a mobile home and vehicle, get all the paperwork in order and make application for our visas, and of course all the packing and planning that goes into moving a family of nine overseas. We covet your continued intercession during this process. We will need the Lord’s direction, timing and wisdom to get it all accomplished! Please continue to pray for:

We began full-time deputation about a year and ten months ago. Since that time we have traveled many tens of thousands of miles, we have been in 160+ churches, and have seen the Lord’s hand of protection, provision and blessing through His people and churches in a marvelous way! We want to thank each of you who have had a part – whether in giving, encouraging or providing for lodging or other needs. We especially thank those who faithfully pray, support and communicate! You all have been a blessing to us and share in the eternal rewards of souls saved and lives impacted! But, please don’t stop yet!

There is still much to be done! We still have several meetings and a mission conference left before I leave for Guatemala on Feb. 17th with Sarah and Jonathan to attend a one-month Spanish Immersion language course. Because I will be out of the country for about a month, I will not to send out a prayer letter in February, but just because we are “out of sight”, please don’t let us be “out of mind.” I will try and get an update out as soon as possible upon my return in March. Please remember Ann, Rachel, Jeremiah, Abigail and Joel (and Baby) who will remain in Texas. Please join us in praying that the baby doesn’t decide to come early before our planned return on March 15th!

Thank You to each of the churches and individuals that the Lord used to help us with special cards and offerings this holiday season! We greatly appreciate your generosity, sacrifice and care for this missionary family and we pray that the Lord would richly bless each of you who gave and wrote!

Deputation Updates:
We are thankful for two more churches (Hazel Green Baptist Church, Alsip, IL, Pastor Rob Reed and Anchor BC, Scottsbluff, NE, pastor Don Stephens) that have picked us up for monthly support. We are now up to almost 96% of our desired support level. We still have meetings scheduled into April of next year, however we are quickly turning our focus to preparing to leave for Colombia.

We have four major areas for prayer and preparation that we covet your intercession for:
Finishing the schedule of meetings that we currently have,
The safe and healthy delivery of the baby, due on or about March 26th,
Obtaining visas for Colombia, and,
Getting a head start on language training.

Thank You to each of you who have prayed with us as we sought some answers and direction from the Lord. Lord willing, our tentative schedule as we head into the New Year is: January through mid February, we will continue with scheduled deputation meetings. Mid-February through mid-March, I will be traveling to Guatemala with one or more of the children to take a one-month Spanish Immersion language course offered there. After the baby is born in late March/early April, we have more scheduled meetings, including the Missions Conference at our home church. We are still praying and looking at a departure date of May/June for Colombia, if the Lord permits. We do covet your prayers concerning the exact timing of our departure, and that *we would be able to obtain 2-year Religious Visas into Colombia.* While the cost and paperwork is a little more in the beginning, this would save a lot of travel expenses and would be a tremendous blessing to the start of our ministry there.

How much we have to be thankful for!! My prayer is that your Thanksgiving has not ended yet. As Christians, we should truly have an attitude of ThanksLIVING the whole year round! Truly our God is a great and gracious, merciful, loving, patient and longsuffering God! Daily He loadeth us with benefits and blessings and He is worthy of our thanks and praise!

We thank the Lord for His continued provision and preparation in our lives. In the past month we have continued busily with meetings throughout Kentucky, Oklahoma and Texas and we have seen the Lord continue to increase our support. We thank the Lord for three new churches that have taken us on for monthly financial and prayer support:

PRAYER REQUESTS – The closer we draw to completion of deputation, the greater we recognize our great dependence upon the Lord for His wisdom and leadership. The next major hurdles are planning the timing of our departure and the selection of a language school. We are considering just where the Lord would have us to best prepare us for ministry in Colombia. It is still our desire to leave by February of next year, but we need your continued prayers to know if this is truly practical, or if this would be too hasty. We also continue to ask for your prayers concerning Ann and for a safe and healthy pregnancy and then delivery on or about March 26th of next year. Deputation Updates & Travels:

This past month we have continued with a busy travel schedule throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. This time of the year has been a great opportunity to see God’s creation in full splendor! Once again we THANK YOU for your faithful prayers for our family – we have seen God’s hand of protection, provision and blessings as we have traveled and we have clearly seen God’s goodness and mercy as we have visited churches.

Praise and Prayer Requests:

PRAISE - We are once again encouraged and thankful for the following churches which have adopted us into their missions family: Berean Baptist Church, Houston, TX, Pastor Lester Hutson, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, St. Clair, MO, Pastor Thomas Smith and Grace Baptist Church, La Grange, KY, Pastor Dave Woosley. This brings us up to slightly under 90% of our desired support level.

REQUESTS – We have two requests. First, please pray that we would have the Lord’s mind concerning the timing of our departure for Colombia. Second, we ask you to join with us in praying for a safe and healthy delivery for our seventh child, due at the end of March or early April. Our desire is to get to the field that God has called us to. If we are ready and able to leave by February, then we could have the baby in Colombia. If this is not practical, we would most likely be delayed until early June to give time for Mom’s recovery and the necessary paperwork. Please pray with us that the Lord’s will would be made clear.

Deputation Updates & Travels:
We are currently in the midst of a 2 ½ month long travel schedule. We have been in 5 different states (TX, AR, KS, NE & IA) for the past 6 meetings. Needless to say, we’ve spent a lot of time behind the wheel, but the Lord has been gracious and we have met some wonderful new friends. We want to say our special thanks to Pastor Kitchens in Benton, AR, Pastor Ova in Osawatamie, KS and Pastor Stephens in Scottsbluff, NE! You all were a great blessing and encouragement to us on the way! We have quite a bit more traveling in the next few weeks, so we covet your prayers for our safety and for the Lord’s leadership and direction in the meetings and churches that we visit. PRAISE - While we were in Arkansas our youngest daughter Abigail developed a large swollen mass under her left armpit. It appeared quickly and was a source of concern so we took her to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. Thankfully, they determined that it was only a swollen lymph node reacting to an insect bite and didn’t feel that it was any serious concern. Special thanks to Pastor Brian Disney, Mission Boulevard Baptist Church in Fayetteville, AR and his daughter and son-in-law in Benton, AR for helping us out and for being such a blessing and encouragement!

REQUESTS - We are currently at a little over 80% of our desired support level. We continue to ask your continued intercession for: Holy Spirit leadership as we seek to be a blessing to churches and to share a burden and vision for the ministry in Colombia. Sorry for the delayed update from the Moore family! I try to send monthly reports to our supporting churches and faithful prayer warriors, but occasionally it doesn’t work out as planned. This time last month, I had printer problems and my laptop in for warranty repair service. As I write, it seems we are in a period of time where we have more questions than answers. Right now, we covet your prayers that as we are busy traveling and visiting churches, at the same time that we would simply rest and listen and wait on the Lord for His will and timing and specific direction. Will you pray with us for direction in several areas?

Scheduling of meetings. When our departure date should be. Scheduling paperwork and procedures for our sponsorship and visa, and our schedule. When/with whom to purchase airline tickets and preparations for packing for the trip. More Moores:We recently confirmed one of our suspicions. On or about March 26th of next year we will be expecting little Moore #7! We are excited and thankful for this good news, however we ask your intercession for Mom and baby as we have a busy travel schedule these next 7 months or so. We also covet your prayers concerning how this will affect our departure date. In addition to recovery time for Mom, there is also birth certificate, passport, visa and necessary paperwork to complete for baby. We would ask you to pray with us for the Lord’s perfect timing for the birth of baby – Ann sometimes carries a little longer than average and this also would be a determining factor in scheduling meetings as well as a departure date.

Deputation Updates & Travels:Through the months of July and August, our schedule kept us primarily in Texas, with a brief trip to Louisiana. We have been in churches regularly, but we’ve had to use some of the unscheduled times to just “drop in” and visit a couple churches, plus I’ve spent several weeks of heavy calling scheduling future meetings, and from mid September to mid December, we have a quite busy and full schedule.Container Shipment:We ask your prayer concerning a container of Bibles, Scripture portions, tracts, Correspondence Courses cards and literature being prepared for Colombia. We appreciate the BEAMS (Bible Education and Missionary Service, Gulfport, MS) for donating 48 whole Spanish Bibles and Jesse and Maggie Coley with Bearing Precious Seed donating 3,000 illustrated Gospels of John and some Bibles as well to be shipped to Colombia! Colombian Newspaper Ad:To date, over 5,300 requests for the first Bible correspondence course have been received and mailed out, and over 1,500 of the second and following courses have been graded and mailed out as well. Pray for souls to be saved and converts to be discipled. Pray for the Ayas as they work with the converts to equip and train them to plant Colombian churches! Prayer Challenge:

Deputation Updates & Travels:

After finishing up the Missions Conference at our home church, we had a little time to pack and prepare for our Colombia Trip (May 9-18) – and boy did we need it - there were so many last minute details that needed to be taken care of! Finally, everything was packed and ready for us to leave and the children (all except baby Joel) to remain here in the U.S. with some missionary friends. The trip and time in Colombia went well, although it is hard to believe 8 days could go by so fast! We were able to be with the Way of Salvation Baptist Church in Bogotá and get to know some of the believers as well as visit the discipleship classes being held twice weekly in Nocaima, about and hour and a half west of Bogotá. Also, we were present in a number of the discipleship sessions Bro. Aya holds each week. We appreciate your special prayers for us during this time, as we saw the Lord’s hand of protection, leadership and abundant provision.

Colombian Newspaper Ad:

Praise the Lord, we were able to put a half page illustrated Gospel tract into the Sunday edition of the Colombian national newspaper “El Tiempo” for slightly less than $7,000.00. With an estimated Sunday circulation of approximately 700,000 this equals the opportunity to get the Gospel out for slightly under 1¢ per person. With 30 different Scripture verses, illustrations and a coupon for a free Bible study by correspondence, the tract attracted a lot of attention. By Sunday morning, the requests started, and it looks like they will continue for weeks to come. The ad ran on the 14th, and by the time we left Colombia on the 18th, there were already about 400 requests (40 by email, 130 by telephone and 200+ by mail). As of last Saturday evening (the 28th), the requests had increased to over 2,4000,

and 14 had already been completed and mailed back!! We also had one man call and come in person to speak with Bro. Aya and make a profession of faith. I was able to help Bro. Aya with the packaging, mailing and expense of the first several hundred courses, but with mailing expenses of a little over a dollar each for the first study, the initial funds have been exhausted. While over 2,400 have been mailed out, there are already 40-50 waiting to be mailed and hundreds more expected to come (in addition to those who complete the first course and return it requesting the second study). We will be sending additional money to help cover printing, mailing and supplies, but if you would like to have a part in sending a John/Romans, along with a Gospel tract and salvation study on the book of John to interested Colombians, please mark your gift “Newspaper Responses” and send it to:

New Supporting Church:

We want to thank the Saints at Lighthouse Baptist Church in San Marcos, TX for adopting us into their mission family and allowing us to be a part in helping them to fulfil the Great Commission!

Prayer Requests:

We would ask you to pray for us as we try to determine a target date to set for our departure to Colombia. We are looking at a time-frame of late April or early May of 2007. Pray that we would have the wisdom to know when the Lord’s perfect timing would be. We will need to have our visas, and we need wisdom about when to purchase airline tickets. The farther in advance we can do this could mean that we could save several thousand dollars.
Another of our greatest needs is to schedule meetings to fill up the summer months. Please pray that the Lord would direct our steps and guide us to like-minded churches that would partner with us in taking the Gospel to Colombia and the regions beyond.

Update Gospel Ad

We have had tremendous responses. A local radio station even called Bro. Aya for a live interview on the radio.

I do apologize for not keeping up with the blog as I came down sick Monday. I have had fever, chills and fatigue. Hopefully I will get to feeling better once we travel back home as we will get home and have over 20 hours of driving. I appreciate your prayers.

Bruce has been busy with Bro Aya, mailing courses and attenting the discipleship classes. We were blessed by both services this Sunday morning and the enthusiasm of the brethren for the Gospel ad. They are so thankful for the sister, who God touch her heart to do this. The evening services were in Nocaima. We drove a couple of hours to get there. The pictures I took do not do justice to the incredible beauty we saw, not to mention the love of the brethren for God´s word. Please pray as these brethren will need a place to meet in as they continue to grow in numbers.

Well, sorry to keep it so brief as I keep feeling quite tired.

The Rain

The rain, a welcome sight for those in Texas and Oklahoma but not for Bogota, Colombia. The rain is beginning to cause extensive damage, flooding and over six hundred families have been evacuated from their homes due to the danger of mud slides.

Bruce and Bro. Aya left this morning 9 am to visit the brethren in Nociama, where homes on those mountains have been destroyed in previous mud slides. They drove approximately an hour and a half, they will do visitation, then there is a discipleship time around 2 pm. Once the discipleship time is complete then they drive back to Bogota, to the church to have another discipleship session. In all they should be home around 9 or 10 pm. A long day when you compound the weather and traffic.

I am spending the day with Monica, who is a joy in Christ and an avid soul winner. Just this morning when she returned on a taxi with another friend, whom by God´s grace, she won to the Lord months back, the taxi driver filled out a card to take the correspondence courses and infact took his course home today! It is a joy to see that all the Aya family have a desire to reach souls for Christ and how sweet to meet those whose lives they are impacting.

I am also learning about culture and writing down vocabulary words. Although, I speak Spanish our words vary. I look forward to teaching our older children so they can get a jump start. I am looking forward to the time when we move to Colombia and have a part in God´s tremendous plan and vision here. I am so thankful that we can already have a part right now with the Gospel ad due to come out in this Sunday´s paper (El Tiempo). Although the ad was over the amount a precious Sister in Christ invested it is worth every penny, yes on the average, based on the circulation it is really only going to cost a little over a penny per possible soul reached!!! Just like any investestment: the more you invest the greater the joy you have when you hear about God´s power of multiplication. (Thank you Sister for your love for souls. We are glad to have had the opportunity to be a part of our Saviour´s vision with you.)

Keep us all in your prayers as we look forward to a day with the Ayas tomorrow and that our Lord grant us devine appointments, even in our time of relaxation (for we do the works of our Heavenly Father, through Christ Jesus our Lord).

What is it like in Colombia?

Well, we have been awakened by the sounds of squeaky brakes, honking car, people talking, dogs barking, hammering and various others sounds that make their vibrating up to the second floor where our room is. There was a familiar sound the first night we were here, that of a trash truck running its route at 1 am! I woke up briefly wondering did my son take out our trash can out (of course this is our routine in the small town of Sunset where we currently live). Well, soon I doze back off to sleep with the realization this is not Sunset.

It did not take long for our day to become busy rather quickly. We found that Bro Ayas computer needed some upgrades so we could complete some minor task. We had Bro Aya review the website where we will need to make some correction. We spend some moments researching the newspaper (El Tiempo) to get a feel what the half page gospel tract may cost. We still need to go in person but atleast we are a bit prepared. Bro. Aya had a couple of commitment to disciple some folks. Sister Aya had an appointment to take Paula for some medical exams. Well, Bro Aya decided to drop her off on our way to the second discipleship appointment, where we went with them. Well, it took over half an hour of driving around the same block to find the exam location, funny thing was that the first place Bro. Aya tried to confirm if this was the location and was told no, was the place after all. So, round and round we had gone. Jokingly I asked Bro. Aya if this driving around helps to become familiar with the roads pot holes ;)

Yes, driving can be a bit interesting here in Bogota. You must have split second decision making as a taxi squeezed infront of you on the left a motorcycle to right, not to mention all the pedestrians that must get to the other side and those pot holes again.

The homes are small as well as their gas economy cars, but it is amazing how much you can squeeze in them and have room to breathe. Really, I am enjoying myself quite well. I enjoy their small bag full of hot bread delivered in the mornings all for 20 cents. As wonderful the aroma of bread is to me, so is the sweet and teachable spirit of the brethren. We were so blessed to have been in their Wednesday prayer meeting. Right now much of the time is taken up with doing biblical studies with the new Christian. It is in question and answer form and they studied the area of fornication (Pastor Turner - It just as rough for the Pastor here as the questions begin coming up). I was amazed that the young people took part in the questions too.

Well, I will wrap up this update for now as much more to do this day. Lord, willing start the process of getting the Gospel tract in the paper.

Just a short note to let all who are taking part in praying for Bruce, myself and little Joel on our 10 day trip to Colombia South America with the goal of placing a Gospel add in the newspaper, have about 30 more minutes before we board on Avianca Flight 0037. Our Lord has granted us travel mercies and grace with little Joel on his first flight experience.

We have been delayed about one hour but not in our Lord's timing, praise God!

We are mindful and thankful of your prayers for our family as we traveled extensively this past month and a half, between Texas, Kansas and North Dakota. We have been in five different Missions Conferences and a number of church meetings. Praise the Lord for His watchcare, protection and provision as we have made the long journeys without incident!

Colombia Trip:

We are now less than one month away from our trip to Colombia. We are scheduled to leave on May 9th and return on the 18th. Just recently, we received a $5,000 designated offering for the purpose of placing a Gospel tract in a newspaper and/or magazine in Colombia. We hope to be able to accomplish this on this trip, as well as making some other coordination for future outreach and gaining further information about the country and the ministry. Please pray that we would have the wisdom we need for the selection of the tract to be used and the timing of the ads for the newspaper outreach.

New Supporting Churches:

We want to thank the Saints at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Ft. Worth TX and the Saints in College Heights Baptist Church, Temple, TX for adopting us into their mission family and allowing us to be a part in helping them to fulfil the Great Commission!

Prayer Requests:

Please continue to pray that our schedule would fill up in the summer months and that as we present our ministry and burden to churches, that they would enter in prayerfully, financially and practically.

Well, “ready or not” 2006, we’re here!

We want to say what a blessing and encouragement each of you have been who took the time to remember this missionary family during the busy holiday season! We greatly appreciate your cards, prayers, letters and special offerings! Thank You!
We were privileged to be at our home church for the baptismal service of Jonathan and Rachel. We rejoice at the work of grace in their hearts and covet your prayers that Jeremiah, Abigail and Joel would also be saved and that we would “train up our children in the way they should go” and for the glory of God!

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” 3 John 4

Deputation and Ministry Updates:

We were in Missouri, Arkansas and Texas this past month. We were only able to get a limited number of meetings to present the ministry, however we preached in seven churches in all, and we pray, lifted up Christ, challenged sinners and were a blessing and encouragement to Saints. In some of the slower times we have made progress researching and learning more about possible ways of using the internet and technology to spread the Gospel in Colombia – even before we arrive. Pray the Lord would give continued wisdom and direction, and that the Gospel could truly be communicated effectively.

The work in Colombia continues to grow. We see how the Lord is using Bro. Aya in a tremendous way for the salvation of souls, the spread of the Gospel and laying a solid foundation for the establishment of local, N.T. Baptist Churches to the glory of God. One of my personal prayers for a long time was that the Lord would send me to a “prepared people.” The Lord is giving clear confirmation of answered prayer! Bro. Aya’s December prayer letter tells the details much better than I could. (You will find a copy along with this letter.) Bro. Aya has been laboring faithfully through difficulty and with the bare minimum of personal support this past year and a half. He is surely worthy of your prayers and support! I would really like for Ann to be able to go, at least for a week, to see the field God has called us to, as well as experience the Colombian culture and people. We covet your prayers that Gods will would be clearly made known.

type of reward he wished. The man made an enormous demand on the treasury that the Imperial

Treasurer refused to pay. The man appealed to Alexander who said “This man knows the greatness

of Alexander and has asked accordingly. We are greatly honored. Grant his request.” – Unknown

Christian, do we truly trust that God is able to do “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think?” (Eph. 3:20-21) Then let’s “attempt great things for God, ask great things of God.”

Ø 2005 will soon be a distant memory and all the opportunities, challenges and uncertainties of the New Year will be upon us. While every day should be a day of conscious determination to serve our great Lord and Saviour, these crossroads of time can give a special impetus for resolutions and commitments in our Christian walk. I thought it would be a blessing to share an excerpt from a challenge I ran across entitled In This New Year:

Increased Support Goal:

Ø Since my survey trip in 2004, the dollar’s purchasing power in Colombia has decreased about 25%. There has also been a gradual increase in the cost of living. We believe it would be a good idea to raise our support goal from $2,400 to $3,000 per month. For a family of 8, we still think that this is a modest, yet practical amount. With the increased amount, we are happy to report that we are still at over 50% of our desired goal!

Deputation and Ministry Updates:

Ø We are encouraged and thankful for three additional churches that are now partners in taking the Gospel to Colombia! A special “Thank You” to the Saints at Star Lake Baptist Church in Standing Rock, NM, Liberty Baptist Temple in Muskogee, OK and Shady Grove Baptist Church in Bossier City, LA. May the Lord richly reward your sacrifice, prayers and involvement! (Mark 16:15)

Ø The work in Colombia continues to expand. The Lord has used the Correspondence School to raise up two other small groups that are faithfully studying the Scriptures and interested in possible future organization. Each week, Bro. Aya is traveling about two hours away to meet with these brethren for discipleship and encouragement.

Greetings:

The days have gone by very quickly for our family on deputation. We have thoroughly enjoyed and been blessed by the hospitality, generosity and fellowship of the Lord’s churches and His Saints all along the way. It has been exciting to establish so many new friendships, but the times of fellowship are usually of necessity brief, and then it is time to say “goodbye for now.” One of the challenges we have faced is to try and remain organized with record keeping, correspondence, personal devotions, home-schooling and ministry responsibilities while adapting to the ever-changing schedules, climates, cultures and routines of life on the road. How desperately I recognize the need in my life in these days to obey the command of Scriptures “be filled with the Spirit!” Contained in this one command is the answer to faithfulness, fruitfulness, fervor and a host of blessings and benefits besides, not to mention the nine-fold fruit of the Spirit. I pray that each of us would increasingly realize the necessity of living out this important biblical mandate. Please pray for our family as we seek to saturate ourselves in Him! (James 4:14b, Eph. 5:15-18)

Deputation Updates:

Our travels this past month have taken us from Indiana to Ohio and back to Texas again. We have experienced safety, good health, abundant provision and a multitude of blessings as we have traveled and for this we are truly thankful to the LORD and to our faithful intercessors! Thank You for your part in making this possible! We appreciate the sacrifice and burden of the Saints at Morningside Baptist Church in Graham, TX and Riverview Baptist Church in Borger, TX for taking us on for monthly prayer and financial support! It is always an encouragement and blessing to us as the Lord moves on the heart of His churches to partner with us in taking the Gospel to Colombia. (Mark 16:15)

I would like to express my gratitude to my Pastor, sending church and each and every one who labored, prayed, planned and participated in my ordination service! I was especially honored to have a combination of veteran missionaries and pastors present on my ordination council who had a part in my discipleship and spiritual development. Special Prayer Request:

Our Deputation Schedule: – It was back in February that we last asked special prayer for the scheduling of meetings and direction of our steps. God has richly answered your faithful intercession! We have sensed the clear leadership and provision of the Lord as He has directed our steps to churches with common burdens and raised up faithful prayer and financial supporters. I feel it is time to ask for your prayers once again. We would ask your special prayers that the Lord would give us wisdom and direction to fill our calendar in the coming months – beginning in January and through the coming year. Pray with us first and foremost for the Lord’s perfect will and timing to be realized in our schedule. Pray that we would be directed to those places where we could be a blessing, encouragement and the best stewards of the Lord’s time and resources. (I Thess. 5:25, Prov. 3:5-6, Psa. 37:23)

Greetings:

As we continue on deputation, we are continually reminded of the Lord's faithfulness, provision and direction! We stand amazed at the churches and Saints that He brings us into contact with and how He uses them to be a blessing and encouragement to us! Our Lord is such a faithful shepherd and guide! We also thank each of you who have a part through prayer, giving and service – we appreciate you and covet your continued labors and intercession on our behalf! (Psalm 23; 2 Thess. 3:3; 1 Thess. 5:25)

Deputation Updates:

Our travels this past month have taken us from Texas, through Louisiana and now up into Indiana. We were able to use some open time in our schedule to deliver a shipment of tracts, Bibles, Gospel materials and financial help to churches in southern Louisiana which will be reaching out to those uprooted by the recent hurricanes. We were also able to go into a number of the refugee centers in southern Louisiana to hand out tracts, Bibles and witness. Pray with us that those who were displaced by the hurricanes would be reached by the Gospel and that souls would be saved!
While hurricane Rita was approaching, we rode out the storm at a missions conference with the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Bossier City, LA. Thankfully, we did not see any damage, only high winds and heavy rainfall. Due to damage from the hurricane, we had a meeting canceled with Cornerstone Baptist Church in New Llano, LA. Please pray for this church and for each of the churches and saints displaced from the storms. Pray that they would have wisdom and boldness to use this opportunity to win many to Christ! Pray that as they rebuild and regroup that the Lord would meet provide for their needs in a special way!
We want to extend a special thanks to the saints at Marion Baptist Church in Marion, TX for their sacrifice and vote of confidence in taking us on for support! We are humbled and encouraged and trust the Lord will credit much fruit to your account! (Phil. 4:17)

Special Prayer Needed:

The Ayas - Last month, the Ayas lost their fourth child halfway through sister Monica's pregnancy and sister Monica nearly died at the hospital. Please pray that the Lord would give recovery, comfort and healing for the Ayas in this time of loss. Pray that there would be no further complications and for special peace and grace. (Psalm 116:15; Isa. 26:3-4; 2 Cor. 1:3-4)
“Kill all the Pastors” - Just one month ago, the military commander of the largest guerrilla organization in Colombia issued a very brazen order to “kill all the pastors” in Colombia. Even the media recognized this as being an unprecedented threat against the religions of the nation. Please pray for the physical safety of the Ayas and other missionaries and preachers in Colombia. Pray that the Lord would continue to give open doors for the proclamation of the Gospel. Pray that the Lord would use President Uribe and the leaders of Colombia to effectively maintain peace and order. (I Tim. 2:1-2)

Greetings:

What a wonderful God we serve! It is such a blessing and privilege to serve our Saviour! I am reminded, not simply of one or two blessings that the Lord has given, but rather the multitude of “benefits” that I often take for granted: salvation, health, safety, family, provision of needs and comforts, the love, support and prayers of our supporting churches, His leadership, wisdom and protection and so much more! Meditating on God’s goodness and mercy makes me even more conscious of how little I deserve it! The Lord blesses me, not because of what I do for Him, but because of His good pleasure. And on top of it, He allows us to have the privilege of having a part in the work that He is doing! Praise His name! (Psa. 68:19, Phil. 2:13, 1 Cor. 3:9)

Deputation Update:

We continue to see the Lord’s hand in guiding our schedule and steps and have been greatly blessed by the hospitality, generosity, friendship and prayers of God’s people along the way. Praise the Lord, we have four more churches that have committed to prayerfully and financially support this ministry! Our deep appreciation to the Saints at Dakota Baptist Church in Minot, ND, Charity Baptist Church in Broken Bow, OK, Broadway Baptist Church in Fritch, TX and Central Baptist Church in Athens TX - may the Lord greatly bless your sacrifice, faith and obedience to the Lord’s command to “go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.” This brings us to just over 50% of our needed support level. (Psa. 37:23, Mark 16:15)

Van Collision:

We are amazed and humbled by the grace and protective hand of our Lord and Saviour and we are extremely thankful to the many of you who pray for us daily. Late last evening, we were clipped head-on by a drunk driver. While attempting to elude the police, he ended up traveling the wrong way on the divided highway we were on. Our vehicles struck and we were s

pun counter-clockwise 180º. It was only because of God's mercy and a few inches that our family was able to walk away unscathed from the accident! Praise His name! Please continue to pray for our family and for all of your missionary families daily! ...We won't know for several days what the outcome on the van will be... Many thanks to our Pastor for coming and bringing us home and for our home church for loaning us a 15 passenger van so that we may continue on deputation until the van is either repaired or replaced. (2 Sam. 22:2-4, Psa. 28:7, Psa. 33:20)

Ministry Updates:
VBS - Our home church sponsored our family as the featured missionaries for this year's VBS Penny Drive. Praise the Lord for the children who were able to raise over $200 for the work in Colombia!
Mission Work - The mission work continues to see about 30 believers assemble for worship services. The Ayas are investing a lot of time in discipleship and doctrinal teaching of new believers, focusing in on the key doctrines of eternal security, scriptural baptism and the church. Please pray for the spiritual growth and maturity of these new believers as they seek to “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” (2 Pet. 3:18)
Laborers Needed - Please pray for God to raise up national laborers for the expansion of the ministry. Distribution centers for the studies and Gospel materials are needed in Medellin and in several other locations. Pray for Bro. Aya's safety as he travels to new areas for evangelism and to establish contacts.

Dear Pastor, Saints and Praying Friends,

Deputation Update:

Ø Greetings from North Dakota! We temporarily escaped the Texas heat and are enjoying the cool climate and beautiful scenery here in the Peace Garden State! We have a full schedule of visiting churches and are enjoying the fellowship, hospitality and friendship of God’s people and His churches along the way. We are continually conscious and thankful of the Lord’s protection, provision and grace as we travel. We especially Thank You for your faithful intercession for this missionary family - we have enjoyed good health, safety and profitable meetings with churches. (Heb. 6:10)

Ø We are at approximately 40% of our desired support level. We are excited to see the Lord’s provision through His churches and are praying that within the next 12 months or so, the Lord would raise up the prayer and financial support we need to join the Aya’s in Colombia! (Eph. 3:20-21)

Ministry Progress:

45 people were present for the first official meeting of the newly forming mission work in Bogotá on June 5th. (They are meeting in the second floor of the Correspondence School Office/Print-Shop.) Praise the Lord - six people professed salvation at this inaugural meeting, and Lord willing, the baptismal waters will soon be stirring. Without a baptistry, they will have to find a suitable location. The second Sunday saw 30 people present as some of the curious and thrill-seekers decided that the services were not exciting (Charismatic) enough. Pray for this newly forming body of believers as they seek to grow and mature.

Ø The Correspondence School continues to see steady growth, but there is an increasing opposition by various religious leaders who are discouraging students from studying the lessons. While this is to be expected, please pray that those who are sincerely seeking the truth would not be hindered, distracted or discouraged. (Gal. 5:7; Luke 11:52)

Ø The registration of the ministry with the Colombian government is back to square one. In order for the ministry to get the legal status they need to sponsor us into the country, they must have an already established ministry in Colombia to sponsor them. The problem has come with finding one that will do this with no strings attached. Pray for the Lord’s timing and provision in this matter.

Continued Prayer Needed:

Ø Pray for the Ayas as they labor in Bogotá. With a falling dollar and growing Correspondence School expenses, they need wisdom and the Lord’s clear direction to aggressively continue outreach while meeting current ministry needs. (Phil. 4:13,19)

Deputation Update:

Thanks to your faithful prayers, we have seen the Lord’s hand of protection and provision as we have kept a vigorous schedule visiting churches and presenting the ministry. The last few weeks have taken us to churches in TX, NM, OK, KY and OH. We would especially appreciate your continued prayers for our safety and the health of the family as we travel! One specific answer to your prayers was that while we were in NM, my unsaved father and stepmother surprised us by dropping in on the Sunday morning services and I was privileged to have an opportunity to preach to them! Please continue to pray with us that the Lord would direct our steps on deputation to be a blessing and ministry to others and that the Lord would be pleased to use our efforts, energy and example for His glory! (2 Sam. 22:3; Psa. 37:23; 1 Cor. 10:31)

New Supporting Church:

We would like to extend a special thank you to the Faith Baptist Church in Temple, TX for taking us on for monthly support! We appreciate your partnership in this ministry, and the concern for lost souls in Colombia! (Col. 1:3; Phil. 4:17)

Ministry Progress:

The work in Colombia continues to grow, with over 1,250 active students in the Correspondence school. With the increased number of students comes an increase in expenses and work. Pray for Bro. Aya as he labors, and for the Lord to continue to supply the needs of the ministry. Praise the Lord, the building where the Print shop is located was purchased and will soon house a

congregation of believers in addition to the Print Shop and office! They plan to use the second floor of this facility for the soon-to-be organized church. Right now the believers are meting in various homes and are looking forward to a more permanent location. We have no word on the registration of the ministry with the government. Please continue to pray with us that the ministry would be able to get the legal status they need to be properly recognized by the Colombian government and to be able to sponsor us into the country.

Continued Prayer Needed:

Once again, we thank you for your faithful intercession for this missionary family! We will be continuing on the road, with upcoming meetings in Oklahoma and North Dakota - pray with us that the Lord would knit our hearts with the brethren of these local churches to be a blessing and a challenge to them and to raise up prayer and financial support for the ministry in Colombia. A special “Thank You” to each of you who have lifted us up in your prayers this past month! We have seen the Lord’s leadership in many of the day-to-day details of making the transition to “full-time” deputation, and we Thank You for your prayers!

We greatly appreciate each one of you who have a part in this work through prayer, friendship and giving! (Eph. 1:16; Psa. 37:23)

Ministry Progress:

Ø Pray for the safety of the ministry and the Ayas in Colombia. The past few weeks have seen an increase in the violence in and around Bogotá. In early March, one of the guerilla organizations placed a briefcase bomb very close to the Correspondence School. Thankfully, the Lord’s hand of protection was evident as a watchful neighbor called the police and the bomb squad was able to safely defuse it without incident.

Ø There are over 1,000 students enrolled in the Correspondence school now. Pray that the Lord will meet the growing financial needs of the Correspondence studies.

Ø Several students have made professions of faith after completing the Correspondence studies. Bro Aya is meeting weekly with a growing number of disciples. Three of the men who Bro. Aya is discipling have expressed the Lord’s calling into service - two as Pastors, and one feels he is called to be a missionary in Colombia. Pray that

Ø Jails and prisons….. and a number of men in weekly discipleship. Pray for Bro. Aya as he labors to balance the needs of the Correspondence School, outreach, his family and the men he is discipling - he is quite busy!

The building where the Correspondence School and Printshop are currently located is being put up for sale. Although Bro. Aya has the first option to buy,

No Greater Love Than This…

A few days ago, I read of a true story that happened in Colombia in 1988. Norbert Reinhart, a Canadian mining executive voluntarily surrendered himself to guerrilla rebels in exchange for an employee he had never met. Ed Leonard, the foreman of his drilling rig, had been abducted and been held hostage for over three months. A father of two small children, Reinhart felt the burden of personal responsibility and bargained for Leonard’s release on the condition that he hand himself over to the guerilla soldiers. His wife reported that as he met Leonard for the first time, Reinhart told him “Your shift is done, you can go home.” Although he gave no testimony of a faith in God, what an example Reinhart set by his selfless act! What would happen if we would commit to serve others no matter the cost of personal risk or inconvenience? (John 15:13, I Tim. 2:5-6; Phil 3:2-9)

Continued Prayer Needed:

Our greatest need continues to be your faithful intercession. Please continue to pray with us for open doors for the proclamation of the Gospel in Colombia. Please pray with us for continued freedom for the ministry in Colombia, and for God to give wisdom to focus the resources toward the key areas as He would direct. (1 Cor. 15:58; I Thess. 5:25)

March 2005 Prayer Alert!!!

Dear praying friends,

Thank you for praying for Colombia and especially for the ministry that we look forward to joining with William Aya family.

March 5th was an alarming day when William and Monica were heading to the Correspondance School, where we will be involved in, Lord willing, and found that a high caliber bomb had been placed in front of the building. It was a bit of a scare to Monica considering their children were with them.

The bomb was probably to target the police station a half block away and not the ministry. Praise the Lord neighbors noticed the suspicious briefcase, authorities were called and the bomb was deactivated.

Please keep the country of Colombia in your prayers as there is much violence urupted since the capture of a Guarilla Forces leader.

We have seen the Lord’s leadership in many of the day-to-day details of making the transition to “full-time” deputation, and we Thank You for your prayers! We are extremely thankful to our sending church - they have given us great freedom to work on staff as we have visited churches, but now it is time to “hit the road.” We covet your prayers that the Lord would give us specific leadership, protection and guidance as we seek to minister to churches and present our burden and ministry. Pray with us especially that our steps would be ordered of the Lord for the scheduling of meetings. We greatly appreciate each one of you who have a part in this work through prayer, friendship and giving! (Eph. 1:16; Psa. 37:23)

Ministry Progress:

Ø We are still at 40% of our desired support level. We trust the Lord’s leadership and timing as we commit ourselves to His calling.

Ø The work continues to expand, with over 800 students enrolled in the Correspondence school and a number of men in weekly discipleship. Pray for Bro. Aya as he labors to balance the needs of the Correspondence School, outreach, his family and the men he is discipling - he is quite busy!

Ø The building where the Correspondence School and Printshop are currently located is being put up for sale. Although Bro. Aya has the first option to buy, if he is not able to purchase the facilities, it would mean relocation of a great deal of equipment and materials. *Pray for the Lord’s perfect will and clear direction for this important decision!*

Ø We have spent some time updating the presentation for the ministry and will be mailing out mini-CD’s to churches and Pastors unfamiliar with the ministry. Please pray that the Lord would use this ministry tool for His glory!

We would like to wish each one of you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Let us boldly share with others the true gift of Christmas – the Good News that Jesus Saves!

Reflections:

We are nearing the end of another year. Praise the Lord for His mercy, longsuffering and goodness to us over the past year! While we “know not what a day may bring forth”, we look forward with anticipation to the many opportunities yet to come. About this time of year, I begin to reflect on the past, and pray concerning the future. Please pray with us that the Lord would give special wisdom as we seek to set some ministry goals for 2005. Pray that we would be sensitive to His leadership day by day! (Psa. 90:12)

Deputation Progress:

We thank the Lord for the saints at Calvary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, TX, who have taken us on for monthly support following a visit to their church. Please pray that we would have the Lord’s special direction as we seek to schedule additional meetings this coming year. Please pray for the safety and health of our family and divine appointments as we travel. (1 Thess. 5:25; 2 Thess. 3:1)

Ministry Progress:

Ø We now have passports for the entire family. Starting next year, we would like to begin the visa application process. There are a couple different ways we could approach this, so please be in prayer that we would have the Lord’s direction and discernment.

Ø A small classified ad in the national newspaper of Colombia “El Tiempo” brought in a number of new students to the Correspondence School.

Ø Please pray for an evangelistic outreach in Cartegena in January. Bro. William will be showing Gospel films, handing out tracts and witnessing in hopes of enrolling more students in the Correspondence School.

The Time is short ….

Flooding in and around the city of Cartegena, Colombia has resulted in many deaths recently. It is a reminder to us of the lateness of the hour, and how great the need is to get the Gospel to needy souls before it’s too late! (Jn. 9:4)

Continued Prayer Needed:

Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour

Please continue to pray for an open door with the Postal Service in Colombia where we would have opportunity to put a Gospel tract and postcard for a free correspondence course in every Post Office Box in Colombia. Please join me in praying specifically for permission to be granted by the government officials and for the Lord’s perfect timing and provision. (James 4:2b, John 14:14)
